Sarah Lem

Hi everyone!

I’m Sarah Lem and I would love to be your IPE First Year Representative! A little bit about me, I graduated this past April from Western University with a BSc in Kinesiology. Here, I was the Varsity Athletic Trainer for the Women’s Field Hockey team, an executive member on the Kinesiology Students’ Association, and had the incredible opportunity to be a Health Sciences Faculty Soph (aka a Frosh Leader)!

Throughout my undergraduate degree, I truly learned to appreciate the diverse backgrounds of many healthcare professionals—doctors, physiotherapists, and of course…nurses—just to name a few! I was able to shadow and experience first-hand how interconnected all the professions are. It’s so important to emphasize the need for seamless integration and cohesion of all members of the healthcare team, so that we are able to provide the best patient care possible, giving back to our communities as they have given to us over the years.

I believe in cultivating strong connections with other healthcare providers and would love to be your go-to person for all things related to IPE! I want to bring fresh, innovative ideas to the IPE Curriculum—representing the voices of the Class of 2022, relaying students’ feedback and providing my own insight to help strengthen the course curriculum. I would really appreciate your support to help make my ideas become our reality, thank you!
