Nursing Student of the Month
September 2019

Cassandra Henry
Year 1 BScN
“I would like to nominate Cass as Nursing Student of the Month. I am in her clinical group and have had the opportunity to work alongside her for four 8-hour shifts now. This past week she showed a great deal of professionalism, persistence, and creativity when interacting with a certain patient. Their dementia made it difficult for even experienced nurses to take vitals but over the course of 2 shifts and a couple of failed attempts, Cass built rapport with the patient and was able to come up with a creative way to take vitals without distressing the patient.
I think that it is this type of persistence and creative care that separates the 'good' from the 'great.' I am eager to learn from her as she continues to grow and shape her practice around these values.
Great work Cass :)”
