Elizabeth O'NEILL

Hello! My name is Elizabeth O’Neill and I running for the CNSA Associate delegate position in the Nursing Undergraduate Society for the 2022 – 2024 term. Before I get started, I think it’s important that you know a little bit about me – I finished my first degree at Western University in Biology and Psychology where I spent a lot of my time studying fungi, I have a little kitten named Elvis and I can play the flute. Now that we have become acquainted, let’s get back to business. As many of you may know, all undergraduate nursing students at the University of Toronto are enrolled in the CNSA. I would love the opportunity to act as a voice for nursing students in our program, creating a safe space to voice our different opinions, expand our connections to other organizations, and bringing awareness about what is going on in nursing research today. The CNSA provides students with many different opportunities, including arranging conferences and awards that nursing student are eligible for.  As I am sure we all know, being a student can be overwhelming at times, and we can miss out on opportunities as we get so distracted with course work and our other obligations. My goal in this role would be to keep students informed of what they have available for them, to make accessing these opportunities a little easier and more attainable.  Thank you for taking the time to read over my candidacy speech, and please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions!
