Avery russell
Hi everyone! My name is Avery Russell, I use she/her pronouns and I’m running to be your Junior Director of Communications with NUS. A little bit about me: my idea of a good time usually involves craft beer (always with a fun can), and doing things like film photography, paddle boarding, camping, and hiking. Why I think you should vote for me: as someone who just moved here from Victoria BC, getting connected to people within the program has been a big priority for me and NUS events have been a life saver. If it wasn’t for the senior coordinator sending out emails about important fun events at the beginning of the semester, I know I would have felt even more lost coming into a new city. Reason you should vote for me #2, my job would include sending out announcements and updating social medias and if you were to ask my mom, she’d say I’m on my phone and computer way too much- which in this case is a positive thing! But to make a long story short, I’d love to take on this role of facilitating communication between NUS, faculty, and the student body with the senior coordinator. I’m beyond excited to be starting this journey in Bloomberg Nursing with all of you and I’m pre-emptively excited to fill everyone’s inboxes with weekly event announcements ☺
