Melody Hariri

My name is Melody Hariri and I’m running to be the Junior Director of Communications for NUS.

I’m from a small mountain town in Alberta and am really excited about this new, and very different chapter in my life! I graduated from Queen’s University in 2019 with a Life Science degree. While at Queen’s I participated in a diverse range of extracurriculars including team sports, student clubs, volunteering, studying abroad, and academic research. It was through balancing these experiences and competing priorities, while also dealing with the associated challenges that allowed me to develop strong communication, teamwork and leadership skills. This past year I worked as a Health Care Aide in Home Care, working alongside other healthcare team members such as nurses, physio and occupational therapists, and social workers. This work experience emphasized the importance of maintaining clear and concise communication between both staff and clients.

With our education over the next two years being predominantly online, it is vital that communication between the faculty, students and NUS is inclusive, effective and transparent. I aim to keep students informed and up to date on all matters related to our degree, as this is one way that we can feel more connected with one another.
