Hi everyone! My name is Sarah, and my pronouns are she/her. I am running to be your second-year senior wellness coordinator! First, let me tell you a bit about myself. I have the cutest, fluffiest dog named Indy, who’s named after the movie Indiana Jones! I love spending my free time outdoors and staying active. I go on adventurous hikes and trips with my dog, despite the Canadian weather. Last summer, we went on a road trip from Toronto to Alberta, and we are planning to travel to the East Coast this summer. I am a huge advocate for health and wellness, and I try my best to take care of myself. I have previously been a wellness leader on my trip to Nicaragua and created wellness events as an aquatic leader for the City of Vaughan.
With our work-intensive and fast-paced program, I know it’s super easy to get caught up with assignments, readings and tests. I have been feeling pretty burnt out myself, especially this semester. To those that feel the same way, I want to help make your days a little brighter and happier. I want to help plan events that boost your physical, emotional, and mental health.
Here are some of the many events I would love to plan, especially with schools shifting to in-person classes.
-
Yoga night to stretch our limbs and muscles after sitting for long hours studying and working 12-hour shifts
-
Mediation sessions to de-stress and relax
-
DIY face masks to improve our skincare and have glowing skin
-
Hikes to enjoy nature and be active
-
Therapy dog(s) visits because who doesn’t love animals?
I would love to coordinate with other NUS members, such as the social coordinators, to bring more fun and healing events.
I hope you will consider voting for me, and I can’t wait to meet you all in class.
Thank you!
