Hi everybody! My name is Kristy, and I am running for one of the Mentorship and Professional Development Coordinator positions for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year! I cannot believe how fast the first year of this program has gone, and it has inspired me to fully engage in the groups that the Lawrence S. Bloomberg nursing community has to offer. I can vividly remember where I was this time a year ago, eagerly waiting to hear back from the program and reflecting on what I would need to do to prepare myself if I got accepted. Fast forward to today, and here we are! There are some tips and tricks I have learned over the year that I would have loved to share with my past self to make the transition of becoming a new nursing student less stressful and more relaxed. It is my hope to share this knowledge with the incoming Class of 2024 to provide them with the extra support they might need as they embark on their new journey! Don’t worry, I have not forgotten about our Class of 2023 – I promise I am here to support you too! As one of your Senior Mentorship and Professional Development Coordinators, it is my job to provide you with access to resources like NCLEX prep and nursing profession related workshops that will aid you in your final year and in your new career as a nurse! I look forward to working with all of you and continuing our nursing school journey together!
