I am so excited to be at U of T in the BScN this year, and would love to join NUS to represent our amazing class as the RNAO Associate Delegate! I want to make it my mission to ensure that everyone gets the most out of their RNAO student membership. Some of the ways I plan to do this include actively liaising between our class and the RNAO, and facilitating educational experiences such as “lunch and learns” to ensure we are always up to date with policies and best practice!
A little bit about me…I did my undergrad at McGill in Psychology and Art History and went on to work in a secure treatment unit for youth in mental health crisis. I then did my Master’s of Public Administration (MPA) at Queen’s and worked as a policy analyst at the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
While at Queen’s I served on the MPA Class Executive as the Society of Graduate and Professional Students (SGPS) Rep, communicating with the SGPS on behalf of the MPA executive and student body to address any student issues that arose. I really enjoyed being part of the council, as it was both fun and challenging making sure our little faculty’s voice was heard.
When I’m not in school, I really enjoy volunteering at SickKids Hospital and at Camp Ooch, reading, doing yoga, travelling, and eating food with friends. I love living in Toronto, and on weekends you can usually find me at a concert or comedy show.
I believe I am the best candidate for the job because I have previous council experience, I am outgoing and outspoken, and I am passionate about nursing and nurse education. If you vote for me, I’ll be sure to keep us all connected to the RNAO, and keep you abreast of networking opportunities, political action, career counseling and more!
Please feel free to approach me if you have any questions, and I look forward to meeting everyone!
